Contact Lens Care

Only one-day contact lenses completely relieve you of maintenance worries. However, for other lenses, it is important to take care of them, keep them clean and comfortable. After each use of contact lenses, it is important to clean and disinfect them to remove dirt and proteins that have accumulated on the lens surface. Thorough cleaning of the lenses - rubbing and rinsing out the dirt with the care liquid ensures comfortable use of the lenses and healthy eyes!

If you use extended wear contact lenses, our ophthalmologist Dr. Merle Piik's recommendation is to do one lens-free day in a week so that the eyes can rest and the contact lens can be cleaned in the care liquid.

Contact lens care:

Step 1

Wash and dry your hands! Remove the lens from the right eye. Then apply 3 drops of care product to each side of the lens and gently rub with the index finger for 10 seconds.

Step 2

Rinse thoroughly the front and back of the lens for 5 seconds to properly remove dirt and tear fluid residue. Use lens solution for rinsing.

Step 3

Place the lenses in a pre-cleaned container and fill the container with a fresh solution. Before closing the container, make sure that the lens is at the bottom of the container to prevent the lens from getting caught between the container lid. Keep the lens in the liquid for at least 4 hours.

Remember to always use fresh maintenance fluid and the container should be replaced with each new maintenance solution, reuse of the container increases the risk of infection! The lens cap must be properly closed after use.

Repeat the same with the left lens.

The lenses may remain in the container until the next use, but not for more than 30 days, after which they must be cleaned and disinfected again.
